South Korean singer Soojin will make her comeback this May with new solo music.

This is according to a new report by South Korean news agency Korea JoongAng Daily, which cites a press release by Soojin’s label BRD Entertainment. The release will reportedly “showcase a different side of Soojin while maintaining her unique allure”.

The singer’s official X (former Twitter) account has also since re-posted an article by news outlet DongA, confirming that the singer will be releasing new music this May.

Soojin’s upcoming release will come about half a year after she made her solo debut with the mini-album ‘AGASSY’ in November 2023, led by a single of the same name.

Prior to her solo debut, Soojin was a member of K-pop girl group (G)I-DLE from 2018 to 2021. Her last release with the act was their fourth mini-album ‘I Burn’, which had featured the single ‘Hwa’.

In related news, Jennifer Lopez recently enlisted (G)I-DLE for a remix of her song ‘This Time Around’. The original version of the track had appeared on the pop star’s latest studio album ‘This Is Me… Now’.

Meanwhile, Zico and BLACKPINK member Jennie have teased their upcoming collaboration, titled ‘Spot!’. The song will be released next week, with teaser photos and videos expected to drop in the lead-up.

Elsewhere, Netflix has announced the cast of its brand-new K-drama series, titled Cashero, starring 2PM singer Junho. The show will also feature Kim Hye-jun (A Shop for Killers), Kim Byong-chul (All of Us Are Dead) and Kim Hyang-gi (Poong, the Joseon Psychiatrist).
