Riot Fest returned to Chicago for its 2024 edition after all (after initially announcing a move to Bridgeview, IL in June), kicking off on Friday (9/20) at Douglass Park. Fall Out Boy headlined day one, and they brought out Rise Against‘s Tim McIlrath (who previously played bass in Arma Angelus with Pete Wentz) for “Sugar, We’re Going Down.” Watch attendee-taken video of that below.

Day one of Riot Fest also featured NOFX (who are headlining their own NOFX World stage on all three nights, ahead of their final three shows in San Pedro, CA), Public Enemy, Circle Jerks, The Offspring (who played Smash in full, followed by a few other songs), Cypress Hill, Sum 41, The Lawrence Arms, New Found Glory, Suicidal Tendencies, Hot Mulligan, Drug Church, ALL, Spiritual Cramp, Poison the Well, Homefront, The Exploited, Winona Fighter, Action/Adventure, Get Dead, and more. See lots of pictures from the whole day by James Richards IV below.
