Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs’ lawyer has shed some light on the rapper’s “state of mind” in prison.

The music mogul was arrested in New York earlier this month and charged with sex trafficking, racketeering and transporting for prostitution. He has pleaded not guilty to all charges.

He is facing numerous lawsuits over claims of sexual assault, with the latest alleged victim – identified only by the pseudonym Jane Doe – claiming she was repeatedly raped and drugged at Diddy’s homes, becoming pregnant after one encounter.

A lawyer for the rapper did not respond to the fresh allegations when contacted by the Associated Press, according to Sky News.

Diddy’s attorney, Marc Agnifilo, has now been interviewed by TMZ for a new documentary called The Downfall of Diddy: The Indictment, in which he said that the rapper’s state of mind was “actually remarkably positive”.

“I spend several hours with him every day,” he added. “His resolve is strong. He’s engaged.”

The lawyer said that Diddy has “come to terms with the fact that this is where he is for now”, and that he’s “focused on his defence”.

Agnifilo also shared that he was working on getting a trial date as soon as possible.

People also shared over the weekend that, according to various sources, Diddy was no longer on suicide watch, and has been visited by his family at Brooklyn’s Metropolitan Detention Centre while awaiting trial. “He is focused and very strong,” a lawyer for Combs told the outlet. “He is concentrating on his defence and preparing for his trial.”

Last week, fresh claims came to light in a separate lawsuit in which a woman alleged that Diddy and his bodyguard drugged, raped her and filmed the incident in 2001. Diddy has denied criminal wrongdoing, according to BBC.

New information about Diddy’s alleged arson attack on Kid Cudi’s car was also recently revealed in a newly-unearthed Los Angeles City Fire Department report.

Before a wave of new accusations and lawsuits against the rapper came to light, singer Cassie filed a lawsuit alleging that Combs had raped her and subjected her to countless acts of sexual, physical, emotional and mental abuse. Diddy denied the claims before the pair settled the lawsuit “to mutual satisfaction” a day after it was filed.

Footage of Combs attacking Cassie was later released to the public, and Diddy issued an apology for his actions at the time.

Diddy was denied bail and reportedly placed on suicide watch as he awaits trial, though Agnifilo told TMZ that the directive was issued as a routine measure for “new, high-profile inmates”. Other reports suggested that he was not eating in prison out of fear of being poisoned.
