Abso Lutely Productions, the production company founded by Tim Heidecker, Eric Wareheim and Dave Kneebone that have given us such shows as Tim and Eric Awesome Show, Great Job!, IFC’s Comedy Bang! Bang! and Nathan for You, have started a record label, Abso Lutely Records. “I grew up loving comedy records and there’s very little of them these days,” says Heidecker. “I’m excited about this new arm of Abso to do what it always does: make the best stuff the best possible way from soup to nuts.”
The first release on Abso Lutely is Tim Platt‘s new comedy album Teeth Like Beak. Platt has written songs for Sesame Street and The Tonight Show, and the album, recorded at Brooklyn’s Union Hall in February, mixes songs with standup. “Abso Lutely has introduced me to so many comedians that I’ve become obsessed with,” he says. “I’ve always been in awe of how Dave and Abso produce shows that are ambitious, specific, and unlike anything else on screen. It is so exciting to share in that legacy with this new label, which is equally committed to putting out the next coolest thing from the next most innovative comedian with whom you’re about to become obsessed.”
